The short version
The site doesn't set any cookies, first-party or third-party.
No Google Analytics, no ad pixels, no social media trackers.
We don't ask for your name, email, phone number or ID.
Swap records, including the IP address and browser used, are erased automatically after 24 hours.
QuietSwap uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party trackers. Fonts and scripts are served from our own servers, so your browser doesn't contact Google or any other outside service when you visit.
Who we are
This website, quietswap.io, and the QuietSwap swap service are operated by [Company legal name], [registered address] ("QuietSwap", "we", "us"). We are responsible for the personal data processed through the site.
What we collect
We only process the information needed to run a swap, keep it secure and keep the site working.
When you create a swap
- Swap details: the direction (for example XMR to BTC), the amount and the estimated amount you receive.
- Addresses you give us: your receiving address and, if you provide one, your refund address.
- Transaction data: the one-time deposit address we generate, your deposit transaction and our payout transaction ID.
- Order record: an order ID, timestamps and the status of each step.
- Connection details: the IP address and browser type (user agent) used to create the swap. We keep them with the swap record so we can investigate failed swaps and stop abuse.
All of this is kept for 24 hours and then deleted automatically, whether the swap completed, expired or failed.
When you visit the site
Like any website, our servers receive technical information your browser sends with every request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. We don't keep access logs of your visits. This information is used only to deliver the page. The only time we save your IP address and browser type is when you create a swap, as described above, and then only for 24 hours.
When you contact us
If you write to support, we receive the details you choose to share, such as your email address and your order ID. We use them only to answer you and fix any error, and delete them after 7 days.
What we don't collect
- No name, email address, phone number or postal address to use the service.
- No identity documents, selfies or KYC verification.
- No account, password or login history.
- No browsing profiles, advertising IDs or device fingerprints.
- No data bought from or sold to data brokers.
Why we use your data
| Purpose | Data used | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Completing your swap | Swap details, addresses, transaction data | Performing our service to you |
| Refunding a failed swap | Refund address, transaction data | Performing our service to you |
| Answering support requests | Order ID, the details you send us | Performing our service to you |
| Fixing errors reported to support | Support emails | Our legitimate interest in running a working service |
| Investigating failed swaps and stopping abuse | IP address, browser type, order record | Our legitimate interest in a secure service |
We never use your data for advertising, profiling or selling to anyone.
How long we keep it
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Swap records, including IP address and browser type | 24 hours, then deleted automatically |
| Access logs of site visits | Not stored |
| Support emails | 7 days, mostly to investigate errors, then deleted |
Because swap records are deleted after 24 hours, we can't look up an older swap. Keep your order ID and the transaction IDs until you've confirmed the coins are in your wallet, and contact us within 24 hours if something looks wrong.
Blockchains are public
Bitcoin transactions, including addresses and amounts, are permanently visible on a public ledger. Anyone can see the Bitcoin we send to your address. Monero hides sender, receiver and amount by default, but the existence of transactions is still recorded on its blockchain.
We can delete our own records, but nobody can delete or change data that has been written to a blockchain.
Security
The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. Swap records are stored with access limited to the staff and systems that need them to run the service. We keep the amount of data we hold small on purpose: data we never collect can't be leaked.
No system is perfectly secure. Protect your own wallets and seed phrases, and never share them with anyone, including people claiming to be QuietSwap support.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the EU and UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- object to or restrict how we use it;
- complain to your local data protection authority.
We don't use accounts, and swap records are deleted after 24 hours, so in most cases we hold no data about you at all. If you contact us about a recent swap, include your order ID so we can find it. We'll reply within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top. Significant changes, such as adding any kind of statistics tool, will be announced on the site before they take effect.
