Check a swap
Your order ID is shown at the top of the swap box, in the form QS-A1B2C3D4. There is no account and no password, because there is nothing to log in to — the ID is the only thing that identifies a swap.
The lookup shows status only. It never returns the deposit address, your payout address or the IP the swap came from. Anyone holding the ID sees the same thing: how far along the swap is, and nothing about who made it.
What each status means
| Status | What is happening | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Waiting for your deposit | The swap exists and the deposit address is live. Nothing has arrived yet. | Send your deposit within 60 minutes of creating the swap. |
| Confirming | Your deposit is on the blockchain and gathering confirmations — 2 for Bitcoin, 10 for Monero. | Wait. This is the longest part and depends on the network, not on us. |
| Exchanging | The deposit is fully confirmed and the payout is being prepared. | Nothing. This takes a minute or two. |
| Sending | The payout transaction has been broadcast to the network. | Watch your own wallet. The transaction ID is shown here. |
| Completed | The payout was sent successfully. | Nothing. If your wallet has not shown it after an hour, email support with the ID. |
| Expired | No deposit arrived within 60 minutes, so the swap closed. | Do not send to that address. Start a new swap for a fresh address and the current rate. |
| Refunded | The swap could not be completed, so the deposit went back to your refund address minus the network fee. | Check the refund address you gave. |
| Could not be completed | Something went wrong and the deposit is being held safely. | Email support with the order ID. This is handled by a person. |
A swap that received a late deposit — coins sent after the 60-minute window closed — is marked as such here. The watcher keeps checking deposit addresses for 24 hours after expiry, so those payments are seen and handled by hand rather than lost.
If it is not found
Two things cause this, and only one of them is a problem.
A typo. The ID is three letters, a dash, then eight characters from an alphabet with no look-alikes — no letter O, no digit 0, no letter I and no digit 1 — so if you are reading one of those, look again.
It is older than 24 hours. Records are deleted automatically a day after the swap is created. This is the same policy the Privacy page describes, and it applies to completed swaps as much as failed ones. If the swap finished, the coins reached your wallet at the time and the missing record changes nothing about that — your own wallet history is the permanent copy, not ours.
This is why support asks you to write quickly. Once a record is gone we cannot look up what happened, only act on the order ID and transaction IDs you send us. If something looks wrong, email contact@quietswap.io the same day.
